What you will need

Each OmniQ™ is tailored to your window’s exact dimensions. For a perfect fit and total darkness, accurate measuring and proper installation are essential.

Step 1: Measuring Your Window’s Recess Depth
Before measuring your window, check the recess depth to ensure there’s enough space for the Guard. The minimum required depth is 3 cm. To measure, start at the front edge of the recess (farthest from the window) and measure to the shallowest point.

Watch for Obstructions
Common obstructions within your recess space include:

+ Window handles
+ Latches
+ Locks
+ Winders or cranks

Measuring with Obstructions
Even with a deep recess, obstructions can block proper installation. To check clearance:

1. Measure the recess depth from the front of the recess to the window.

2. Measure the obstruction depth from the window to the front of the obstruction.

3. Subtract the obstruction depth from the recess depth to find the unobstructed space.

Important: You need at least 3 cm of unobstructed recess space to install the Guard securely.

Step 2: Measuring the Width
Since windows are often not perfectly square, you need to measure the width in three different places to account for any unevenness:

+ Top of the window recess
+ Middle of the window recess
+ Bottom of the window recess

Record the smallest of these three measurements. This ensures your Guard fits the narrowest point of your window.

Step 3: Measuring the Height
Next, measure the height of your window recess. Once again take measurements from three locations:

+ Left of the window recess
+ Middle of the window recess
+ Right of the window recess

Just like with the width, record the smallest of these three measurements.

Avoid Common Measuring Mistakes
To get the most accurate measurements, avoid these common errors:
+ Measuring at an angle: Always hold the tape measure straight and level.
+ Bending the tape measure: Keep the tape straight to ensure accurate measurements.
+ Rounding incorrectly: Round to the nearest tenth of a centimeter if needed.

How to install

What's in the box?

Installing your OmniQ™ is quick and straightforward and takes just 5 minutes. No tools are needed for the installation.

Step 1: Lay Out the Side Frames
Unpack the side frames and place them on a clean, flat surface, parallel to each other with their inner channels facing inward for assembly.

Step 2: Position the Top and Bottom Frames
Place the top and bottom frames parallel to each other, and verify that the numbered labels on the adjoining ends match.

Step 3: Connect the Frames
Connect all of the frames together by connecting the fabric and the side frame with the top and bottom frames.
After connecting the frames, test the blinds by closing them to see if they latch properly.

Step 4: Tighten the Cords
Using the included screwdriver, turn the two screws in either direction until the internal cords tighten. Make sure the cords are tightened evenly on both sides.

Step 5: Insert the Corner Caps
Press-fit the 8 included corner caps onto all frame corners - 4 on the front side, 4 on the back side.

Step 6: Split the Weather Strip
Split the provided weather strip into two equal parts.

Step 7: Remove the Backing From the Weather Strip
Peel off the protective backing from the weather strip to expose the sticky side.

Step 8: Apply the Weather Strip
Apply the weather strip to all 4 sides of your OmniQ™. Ensure all sides are properly covered without any gaps.

Step 9: Remove the Backing From the Brush Strip
Peel off the protective backing from the brush strip to expose the sticky side.

Step 10: Apply the Brush Strip
Apply the brush strip to all four sides of the frame, directly beside the weather strip.

Step 11: Insert and Test OmniQ™
Place the blinds inside of your window recess. Test the blinds by opening and closing them.

What are the measurements of the frame?

The width of the frame is 2.5 cm, and the depth of the frame is 3.3cm.

Do the Quartz-colored blinds completely block out all light?

Yes, Quartz-colored blinds provide complete light blockage, just like the Graphite, Navy and Titanium OmniQ™.

Is OmniQ™ suitable for all window types?

OmniQ™ is designed to fit most standard window types, but there are a few considerations.

Guard won't fit windows that are not square. Additionally, the blinds require at least 3 cm of unobstructed recess space for proper installation. If your window doesn't meet these criteria, Guard may not be suitable for you.

Does OmniQ™ require any special maintenance?

OmniQ™ is low-maintenance. The non-woven polyester fabric resists dust and stains, requiring only occasional cleaning with a damp cloth. No special cleaners or treatments are necessary.

How does OmniQ™ look from the outside?

The interior of the OmniQ™ matches your fabric choice, while the exterior is always Quartz to reflect light. For example, if you select Graphite, the interior side will be Graphite, but the exterior will remain Quartz. This design ensures a uniform appearance from the outside and is intended to reflect light.
